Dental chairs come in both electrical and hydraulic models. This will affect the cost of the chair. The motor of an electric dental chair has more noise going up and down than a hydraulic one. Most dental technicians feel one is not superior to the other. There are a variety of color selections, as well as fabrics. Naugahide or Ultra leather are available. Ultra leather is very soft, and very durable. Naugahide is a firmer fabric.

You can mount a delivery unit on a chair, on a mount. This can be a ridge mounted unit, for either a left or right handed dentist. Also there is a unit that swings left and right, for either a left or right handed dentist. A cuspidor can also be mounted on the chair, or just an HVE and Saliva ejector.

Chairs have warranties from 1 to 5 years, depending on cost. A longer warranty is very important as a chair motor is very expensive. It could be $1000 to replace a chair motor including the parts and installation.

Office design will dictate which type of unit is used in conjunction with the chair. A rear delivery unit on a cabinet usually will not have anything mounted on the chair, and will have a ceiling, or track light.
